I started making videos because I thought cameras were interesting. Turns out, the most interesting part is everything that happens before you turn them on.
Lately, I’ve become more interested in the idea, the insight, and the thing that makes people care in the first place.
I work at a small production company where we make a lot of corporate videos. Usually the kind that look nice, say very little, and somehow still take weeks to get approved.
It’s been a great way to learn the craft. But also how an idea can go from being pretty good to being approved by everyone.
I still work visually — mostly as a DP and colorist — but I spend just as much time thinking about concepts, writing, and figuring out how to make things land.
I like simple things that feel real. And I like when idea and execution actually match.
But hey, I make a very mediocre cup of coffee, so you're probably better off inviting me for one instead.
